Video triage before ER: a smarter way to treat Non-Urgent patients?

NCT ID NCT07546071

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested whether having a video consultation with a senior emergency doctor before entering the ER can improve care for non-urgent patients. 200 adults were randomly assigned to either a video consult plus standard care or standard care alone. The goal was to see if this approach could shorten ER stays, boost patient satisfaction, and help doctors accurately decide who truly needs ER care, all while keeping patients safe.
