Can a short video help teens take charge of their rare disease care?
NCT ID NCT05663320
Summary
This study aimed to test if a virtual education program could help teenagers and young adults with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) prepare to manage their own healthcare as they transition from pediatric to adult doctors. Participants, aged 16-22, would have been randomly assigned to either watch an educational video or receive standard education, and then complete surveys about their knowledge and readiness over a year. The goal was to see if this online approach was a practical way to deliver support and improve self-management skills for this rare condition.
