Supercharged immune cells take on seven viruses in transplant patients
NCT ID NCT03180216
First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This early-stage trial tests whether specially grown immune cells from a donor can safely prevent or treat seven common viruses in people who have received a stem cell transplant. About 32 participants will receive these cells either as a preventive measure or to fight an active infection that hasn't improved with standard treatment. The main goal is to check for side effects, like graft-versus-host disease or other serious reactions.
