First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at 100 very premature babies (born at 22 to 28 weeks) who need a lung medicine called surfactant. Doctors will use either a video camera or a direct look to guide a thin tube into the baby's windpipe. The goal is to see which method works best on the first try and causes fewer breathing or heart rate problems.
