Tiny patients, critical tubes: study tests safer way to help babies breathe during heart surgery

NCT ID NCT05902013

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two common medical tools is better for safely placing a breathing tube through the nose of babies under 1 year old who have heart defects and need surgery. It will compare a standard direct-view tool against a newer video-guided tool. The main goal is to see which method is more successful on the very first attempt, which is important for the safety of these fragile infants.
