Watch and walk: simple video cuts fear, speeds recovery after hip surgery
NCT ID NCT07279974
Summary
This study tested if showing patients a video before hip replacement surgery could help them move sooner and with less fear after the operation. 96 patients were split into two groups: one watched a video showing safe movement techniques, while the other received standard verbal instructions. Researchers measured patients' fear of movement, pain levels, and how well they moved the day after surgery to see if the video made a difference.
