Can a 5-Minute video save your sight? study tests new way to teach patients about urgent eye surgery
NCT ID NCT07184255
Summary
This study is testing whether short, animated educational videos can help patients better understand their urgent retinal detachment surgery and recovery instructions. Researchers will enroll 600 patients and randomly assign them to receive either standard counseling or counseling plus a video in their preferred language. The goal is to see if the videos improve patient knowledge, reduce anxiety, and help people follow important post-surgery rules, especially for patients who speak different languages or have vision challenges.
