Can a friend on a screen fight depression?

NCT ID NCT05611996

Summary

This study tested whether connecting older adults with depression to a trained peer mentor through video chats and text messages could help reduce their symptoms. Participants, who were 50 or older and from low-income or minority backgrounds, received 8 weeks of support. The main goal was to see if this type of remote, peer-led program was a practical and helpful approach.
