Five-minute video may ease tough choices for fibroid patients
NCT ID NCT07072364
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a 5-minute educational video about uterine fibroids and their treatments can help patients feel less conflicted when deciding on a treatment plan. About 154 women with fibroids will be randomly assigned to watch the video before their appointment or receive usual care. Researchers will measure decisional conflict using a survey after the visit.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
educational video
What this could lead to
If it works, this could help patients feel more confident and less conflicted when choosing among fibroid treatments.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study testing a behavioral intervention, not a new drug or procedure. The video may not significantly reduce decisional conflict for everyone.
