Seated vibration boosts recovery in chronic stroke patients
NCT ID NCT07554794
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether adding seated vibration training to standard rehab could help people who had a stroke at least six months earlier. Over four weeks, 39 participants received vibration training plus usual care. Results showed improvements in leg strength on the unaffected side, daily function, quality of life, and self-esteem, though the affected side did not get stronger.

What this could lead to
If this approach is confirmed, it could offer a simple, non-drug way to boost recovery and quality of life for people living with chronic stroke.
What could go wrong
This was a small, single-site study with only 39 participants. The improvement was seen only on the unaffected side, not the affected side, so benefits may be limited.
