Vibration training shows promise for speeding stroke recovery
NCT ID NCT07333456
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether adding vibration therapy to standard rehabilitation could improve leg muscle strength, daily function, and emotional well-being in people who recently had a stroke. 115 hospitalized patients were randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone, stationary cycling, or cycling plus a wearable or platform vibration device for 5 days. Researchers measured changes in muscle strength, balance, self-care ability, and anxiety/depression scores before and after the intervention.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
wearable vibration device and vertical vibration platform
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, early rehab method to help stroke survivors regain leg strength and independence faster.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial with no phase designation. Results may not apply to all stroke patients, and the short 5-day intervention limits long-term conclusions.
