VA tests new lifeline for veterans at highest risk of suicide
NCT ID NCT04446468
Summary
This study tested a new program called PEACE to help prevent suicide in veterans after they leave a psychiatric hospital. The program combined a smartphone app to improve social connections with regular check-in calls to encourage continued care. Researchers compared veterans who received this extra support to those who got standard care alone to see if it reduced suicidal thoughts.
