VA launches critical study to stop veteran suicide after hospital discharge
NCT ID NCT06596044
Summary
This study is testing a special support program called VA BIC to see if it can help prevent suicide in Veterans after they leave mental health treatment outside the VA system. The program involves check-in calls and support to help Veterans feel more connected and engaged with care. Researchers will compare 120 Veterans who get the extra support to those who receive standard care alone to see if it reduces suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
