VA launches pilot to test Life-Saving gun safety talks for veterans

Summary
This study aims to test a new counseling approach designed to help prevent suicide among Veterans. It will work with up to 50 Veterans who own firearms and are at elevated risk, providing counseling focused on safe storage and temporary removal of guns. The main goal is to see if this counseling is practical and acceptable to both Veterans and their healthcare providers in a primary care setting.
