New approach tested to help veterans kick the smoking habit
NCT ID NCT04061720
Summary
This study tested a new support program designed to help veterans who smoke but aren't ready to quit. It compared an 'Enhanced Chronic Care' approach, which offered ongoing motivational support, to standard care, which was just brief yearly advice to quit. The goal was to see if the enhanced support helped more veterans eventually stop smoking and use available quit-smoking treatments.
