New Mail-Based program aims to help veterans quit smoking and cut drinking

NCT ID NCT07039175

Summary

This study is testing a program called MINDSET that aims to help veterans with heart conditions or diabetes who smoke or drink too much. The program sends personalized mail explaining how these habits affect their health, followed by a supportive phone call. Researchers want to see if this approach helps veterans become more willing to change their habits and actually reduce their tobacco and alcohol use over time.
