One-Shot gene therapy aims to permanently lower bad cholesterol

NCT ID NCT06164730

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety of a single dose of an experimental gene-editing treatment called VERVE-102. It is designed for people with inherited high cholesterol or early heart disease who need to lower their 'bad' LDL cholesterol further. The treatment aims to permanently edit a gene in the liver to reduce cholesterol levels, potentially offering long-term control without daily medication.
