New 'Gentle Pull' tooth extraction could save your smile
NCT ID NCT07374627
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new, gentler way to remove a tooth before placing a dental implant. Instead of wiggling the tooth out, doctors use a special tool (Benex system) to pull it straight up, which may cause less damage to the surrounding bone and gum. The goal is to see if this method leads to better healing and a more natural-looking result. The study will involve 14 adults who need a front tooth replaced.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Benex vertical extraction system (procedure)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a less traumatic way to extract teeth, potentially preserving more bone and gum tissue for better-looking and longer-lasting dental implants.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early study with only 14 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The procedure is also technically demanding and may not always prevent bone loss or gum recession.
