Scientists hunt for hidden pneumonia types in ICU patients
NCT ID NCT07245888
Summary
This study aims to identify different types of pneumonia that develop in patients on breathing machines in intensive care units. Researchers will analyze leftover fluid from routine lung wash procedures from 400 patients across five European countries to look for protein patterns. The goal is to create better ways to diagnose these infections, which could help doctors choose more targeted treatments in the future.
