Breathing tube could hold key to easier ventilator monitoring
NCT ID NCT06968793
Summary
This study aimed to see if measuring pressure changes in the cuff of a breathing tube could be used instead of a more complex and uncomfortable procedure to monitor how hard a patient on a ventilator is trying to breathe. Researchers compared the two methods in 30 stable, critically ill adult patients who were already on a ventilator. The goal is to find a simpler, non-invasive way to help doctors better adjust ventilator settings for patient comfort and safety.
