New drug trial targets painful lupus skin rash

Summary

This study is testing whether an experimental drug called VENT-03 can reduce the severity of skin rashes caused by lupus. About 24 adults with active lupus skin rashes will take either VENT-03 or a placebo for 4 weeks, then all will take VENT-03 for 8 more weeks. Researchers will measure changes in skin inflammation and monitor for side effects to see if the drug is safe and effective.
