Heel or no heel? study tests which bandage wrap works better for leg ulcers

NCT ID NCT04046120

Summary

This study tested two ways to apply compression bandages for healing venous leg ulcers: one method covers the heel, and the other leaves it uncovered. Researchers wanted to see if leaving the heel uncovered is just as good at maintaining proper pressure and is more comfortable for patients. They measured bandage pressure, patient comfort, and swelling in 102 adults with open leg ulcers.
