Life-Saving drug in a vending machine: new program aims to stop overdoses

NCT ID NCT06429436

Summary

This study is testing whether putting free naloxone (a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose) in community vending machines makes it easier for people to get it. The goal is to see if this method helps prevent overdose deaths by getting the medication to more people who might need it. Researchers will track how much naloxone is taken from machines in three communities and monitor local overdose rates.
