Targeted drug combo shows promise for genetic pancreatic cancer

Summary
This study tests whether adding the drug veliparib to standard chemotherapy (gemcitabine and cisplatin) works better than chemotherapy alone for people with advanced pancreatic cancer who have a BRCA or PALB2 gene mutation. About 83 participants will receive either the combination or chemotherapy alone. The goal is to see if the combination shrinks tumors or slows cancer growth.
