New implant aims to improve dialysis access for kidney patients

Summary
This study tests a device called VasQ, which is placed around a blood vessel connection (fistula) used for dialysis. The goal is to see if VasQ helps the fistula work well for dialysis sooner and longer than standard surgery. About 300 adults with kidney failure will be randomly assigned to get either VasQ or standard fistula creation, and followed for 12 months.
