Race to save newborns: trial tests new Heart-Restart drug

NCT ID NCT05738148

Summary

This study aims to find out if a medication called vasopressin works better than the current standard drug, epinephrine, to restart the heart in newborns who need emergency CPR at birth. The hospital will use one drug or the other for a year, and researchers will compare how quickly the babies' heartbeats return. The goal is to see if vasopressin leads to faster recovery and better survival for these critically ill infants.
