Scientists test why older adults struggle with hydration

NCT ID NCT06930300

Summary

This study aimed to understand why older adults are more prone to water and salt imbalances. Researchers compared healthy older adults to younger people by measuring a hormone marker (copeptin) during tests that either hydrated or dehydrated the body. The goal was to see if the body's natural hormone response for regulating fluids changes with age.
