Can a simple score predict deadly clots after vein surgery?

NCT ID NCT03041805

Summary

This study aims to test how well a risk-scoring tool (the Caprini score) can predict dangerous blood clots in the legs or lungs after varicose vein surgery. It will follow 3,000 patients for a month after their procedure, using ultrasound scans to check for clots. The goal is to identify which patients are at high risk and would benefit from preventive blood-thinning medication.
