Summary
This study aims to understand how two common treatments for swollen veins in the esophagus (banding and injection therapy) affect the underlying pressure in the liver's blood vessels over several months. Researchers will measure this pressure using a specialized ultrasound technique in 70 patients with liver cirrhosis. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help doctors better predict and prevent dangerous bleeding episodes in the future.
