First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called varenicline works better than nicotine patches and lozenges to help people stop smoking. Over 600 smokers who wanted to quit took part. The main goal was to see who could stay smoke-free for at least 7 days, confirmed by a breath test. Results will show which approach is more effective and safer.
