First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a noninvasive device that stimulates a nerve in the ear (transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation) can help young athletes recover more quickly after sports activity. Forty healthy amateur football players aged 18-25 participated. The researchers measured breathing function and perceived fatigue to see if the stimulation improved recovery compared to no stimulation.
