Summary

This study tests a non-invasive device that stimulates the vagus nerve (a key nerve connecting the brain and body) to help veterans with alcohol use disorder. The goal is to reduce withdrawal-related distress and cravings, and improve quality of life. About 80 veterans will receive the stimulation or a sham treatment, and researchers will measure changes in anxiety, withdrawal symptoms, and brain activity.
