First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This early-stage study tested a vaginal ring that releases two drugs (dapivirine and levonorgestrel) in 40 healthy HIV-negative women. The goal was to measure how the body absorbs the drugs and check for safety and bleeding changes over 90 days. Results will help design future studies for HIV prevention and contraception.
