VA tests app that lets veterans send skin photos to doctors, trains AI to help diagnose

Summary
This study aims to improve access to skin care for veterans by testing a new mobile app. The app allows new patients at three VA hospitals to send photos of their skin directly to a dermatologist instead of waiting for an in-person visit. Researchers will also use the photos to train and test an artificial intelligence system to help with diagnosis and will survey veterans and staff about their experience with this new remote care option.
