Summary

This study tests a program called VA S.A.V.E. that teaches family members, caregivers, and friends of Veterans how to spot signs of suicide risk and connect the Veteran to professional help. About 710 participants who have weekly contact with a Veteran will take the training and report their actions. The goal is to see if the training increases how often they ask about suicidal thoughts, recommend treatment, and share crisis hotline information.
