First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study will compare two types of central catheters used in newborns: umbilical venous catheters (UVCs) and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). Researchers will track complications, how long each catheter lasts, and rates of bloodstream infections. The goal is to find which catheter is safer and more effective for critically ill babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
