New test aims to spot dangerous uterine tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT04250766

Summary

This study is testing a special biopsy procedure to see how well it can tell the difference between a common, non-cancerous uterine fibroid and a rare, dangerous cancer called a sarcoma before a patient has surgery. Doctors want to know if this biopsy can accurately identify the cancer so they can avoid a surgical technique that might spread it. The study involves 19 women in France who have suspicious uterine tumors that require surgery.
