New study investigates whether fibroid surgery helps or hurts pelvic floor

Summary

This study follows 200 women with symptomatic uterine fibroids who are scheduled for either hysterectomy or myomectomy. Researchers will compare pelvic floor symptoms and measurements before and up to 12 months after surgery. The goal is to understand how different surgical treatments impact urinary and pelvic floor function.
