Gene hunt: why some labors stall despite help
NCT ID NCT01107158
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This pilot study looked at whether certain genetic variations (SNPs) in two cholesterol-related receptors (LXR alpha and LXR beta) are linked to uterine dystocia—when labor stalls despite medication. Researchers planned to analyze DNA from 58 women who had C-sections due to stalled labor. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
