First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study explored whether the ultrasound tip of an EBUS bronchoscope can be used to check for pneumothorax (a collapsed lung) after a procedure. Researchers aimed to see if this method could replace the usual chest X-ray, reducing radiation exposure. The study included 17 patients undergoing bronchoscopy or with a chest tube, but was terminated early.
