Glowing urine test could catch cheaters in drug monitoring

NCT ID NCT07356349

Summary

This study is testing whether a special drink containing a harmless dye can help verify that urine samples collected for drug testing are real and haven't been tampered with. Researchers will give 114 adults with substance use disorder either a sports drink with the dye or a regular sports drink, then check their urine samples for a glowing marker. The goal is to improve the accuracy of drug testing programs by ensuring samples come from the person being tested.
