Simple pee test could reveal who benefits most from prostate surgery

NCT ID NCT07416981

Summary

This study aims to see if a specific protein (CTGF) found in urine can tell doctors how much scarring (fibrosis) is in a man's bladder before surgery for an enlarged prostate. Researchers will check the urine of 50 men before their operation and see if the protein level predicts how well they recover afterwards. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to help predict surgical outcomes.
