Urine DNA test may spare bladder cancer patients unnecessary surgery

NCT ID NCT07187635

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a urine test that detects tumor DNA can help doctors decide which bladder cancer patients truly need a second surgery. About 196 adults with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer will be randomly assigned to have their repeat surgery decision guided by the urine test or by standard care. The goal is to avoid unnecessary surgeries and their risks while still catching any remaining cancer.
