First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at the bacteria living in the bladders of women with and without urinary tract infections (UTIs). Using advanced DNA testing, researchers found that many bacteria are missed by standard urine cultures. The goal was to understand how changes in the bladder's bacterial community might lead to UTIs. 108 women participated, and the results could improve how UTIs are diagnosed and treated.
