Scientists map the hidden world of bladder bacteria
NCT ID NCT07020676
Summary
This study aims to better understand what causes urinary tract infections (UTIs) by comparing the community of bacteria and chemicals in the urine of women who have UTIs to those who do not. Researchers enrolled 108 premenopausal women, some with a UTI and some healthy, to analyze their urine samples with advanced lab techniques. The goal is to learn if differences in the natural bacteria living in the bladder are linked to developing an infection.
