Could a simple cream boost eczema relief?
NCT ID NCT07295678
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding URGO FilmoCream Eczema to standard steroid cream works better than steroid cream alone for treating atopic dermatitis. Researchers will compare two similar eczema lesions on each of 44 adults—one treated with steroids only, the other with steroids plus the test cream. They will track healing, itching, and skin condition for up to 30 days of treatment and 28 days after.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
URGO FilmoCream Eczema (a moisturizing, protective cream) used alongside topical corticosteroids (desonide or betamethasone)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, non-steroidal cream to boost symptom relief and healing when used with standard steroid treatment for eczema.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 44 people. The cream is tested on just one lesion per person, so results may not apply to whole-body eczema. It's not a cure and only aims to ease symptoms.
