Can a new injection match an existing eczema treatment?

NCT ID NCT07754786

First seen Aug 10, 2026 · Last updated Aug 11, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This trial is testing whether an experimental biologic called IBI3027 works as well as the approved drug dupilumab for people with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema). About 520 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either IBI3027 or dupilumab as a subcutaneous injection every two weeks for about 44 weeks. The main goal is to see if IBI3027 can achieve a 75% improvement in eczema severity, as measured by the EASI score, similar to dupilumab.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
IBI3027, an experimental biologic similar to dupilumab, given as an injection every two weeks
What this could lead to
If IBI3027 proves equivalent to dupilumab, it could offer another effective treatment option for people with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, potentially increasing access and affordability.
What could go wrong
This is a phase 3 trial, but equivalence is not guaranteed. IBI3027 may not match dupilumab's effectiveness or safety, and results may not apply to all patients.
