New hope for painful skin disease with no approved treatment

NCT ID NCT07492251

Summary

This study is testing whether a pill called upadacitinib can help control severe forms of lichen planus, a skin disease that causes painful mouth sores or scarring hair loss. Researchers will compare the drug to a placebo (sugar pill) in 56 adults over 16 weeks to see if it improves symptoms. The goal is to find a better treatment option for people who don't get enough relief from current creams and ointments.
