Study questions: should strong UC drug be used sooner or later?
NCT ID NCT07472309
Summary
This study looked back at medical records to see if using the drug upadacitinib as the first major treatment for a severe flare of ulcerative colitis works better and is safer than using it only after other treatments have failed. Researchers analyzed data from 81 patients to compare how many avoided major surgery and achieved remission based on when they started the drug. The goal was to understand the real-world benefits and risks of different treatment timing strategies.
