Routine clinic check could uncover hidden cancer genes

NCT ID NCT06926816

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether it's practical and acceptable to offer genetic testing for cancer-related genes to women during routine gynecology visits, without needing a specialist referral. About 600 women aged 25-39 will be offered testing, and researchers will track how many choose to take it and how many have genetic changes that increase cancer risk. The goal is to see if this approach can make genetic screening more accessible.
